went and saw President Clinton speak at UCLA today about proposition 87. Michelle and I went early and waited in a very long line. It was an extremely long line that I later found out contained 4000 people. We were some of the last people let in about 2000 in. There were a lot of broadcast camera there. I recognized a bunch of guys that i've worked with. I noticed that some film camera were also there. It turns out that they also shot a commercial there for prop 87.

What a beautiful day it was today. Today I played my first game of golf ever at a tournament out in Industry Hills country club. I was in a charity tournament for the Midnight Mission. My entry was paid for by the Hollywood Post 43 of the American Legion. Several members played, I would say at least 15 of us. The day started early. I picked up the bartender at Post 43, Dave Gibson out at his place in Universal Cities. We drove out to the golf course and met up with our team, Brad Fagerstrom and Terry's friend Gary. It was great being able to walk around on the grass in the peace and calm. We shot 18 holes and ended 2 over par as a team. I even contributed a few good swings including a great one on the very last hole.

Drove out to Long Beach after work today to buy a set of golf clubs. Found them on Craigslist.com for $50. Some young guy reccieved them as a Christmas gift and since then they have been sitting in his garage. So I picked them up and on the way back stopped at Dominguez Hills gold course to pratice with a bucket of balls.

A few months back I remember watching the Daily show one evening when I heard John Stewart talking about how Daryl Hannah was being pulled out of a tree. I thought it was funny because I knew exactly what he was talking about. She had been tree sitting in the South Central Farm compound. The reason I call it a compound is because security was tighter that my camp Carrol my old post in Korea. Well I got a chance to go back to S. Central Farm today. But long after the landlord had taken the land back and demolished most of the farm plots. The old farmers where having a farmers market on Martin Luther King street on the North side of the old S. Central Farm. The market was pretty lame and unattended, but there were several holes in the fence of the old farm and I got the opportunity to walk around on the inside. In the photograph you can see the famous tree that Daryl Hannah was pulled out of.

I got a new tree today, a Carolina Cherry. I got it at Hazard Park in East L.A. today as Mayor Villariagosa kicked off his program to plant a million trees in L.A. A bunch of celebrities were there to help kick it off. I approached XXx, the husband of Eva Longoria in Desperate Housewives to do an interview. He said O.K. and asked what station I was from. I showed him my Telemundo Microphone and he got scared. He said that his spanish wasn't so good, in fact it would look horrible on camera. So I said no problem and that I understood because my spanish was just as bad. This is a photo of him waiting to be interviewed while actress XXX is getting interviewed. AS I was leaving one of the volunteers gave me the tree and told me to take good care of it.

Got my brand new laptop today. a black 15" macbook.
